Emirates commenced flights for travellers to and from Dhaka on Wednesday. The airline will operate flights thrice weekly to Dhaka, allowing customers to travel between Bangladesh and various destinations in Europe, the Americas and the Middle East, with a convenient connection in Dubai, as long as they meet travel and immigration entry requirements of their destination country. Flights will be operated with Emirates Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, according to a media release. Emirates also announced scheduled flights to Munich from 15 July also with Boeing 777-300ER. In addition, the highly popular Emirates A380 aircraft will begin serving travellers on flights to London Heathrow and Paris starting from 15 July. This marks the return of Emirates’ flagship aircraft on scheduled services since the pandemic forced the temporary grounding of the airline’s passenger fleet in March. Earlier in the week, an announcement came about re-opening of Dubai to business and leisure visitors from 7 July, with new air travel protocols that facilitate travel for UAE citizens, residents and tourists while safeguarding the health and safety of travellers and communities. As a result until July 7, only UAE nationals are permitted to leave Dubai for Dhaka, or terminate their travel in Dubai from Bangladesh. All other passengers can transit and connect via Dubai, to the airline’s current passenger network. From July 7, foreign visitors to Dubai should hold an international health insurance policy covering illness from Covid-19 for the duration of their stay. Flight bookings can be made online at emirates.com or via travel agents. Customers can find more information about Emirates’ flights and current services at: www.emirates.com/wherewefly. Emirates has implemented a comprehensive set of measures at every step of the customer journey to ensure the safety of its customers and employees on the ground and in the air, including the distribution of complimentary hygiene kits containing masks, gloves, hand sanitiser and antibacterial wipes to all customers, the release added.
