Ride sharing startup Obhai recently added a plexiglass shield to its vehicles as part of its “Clean Care+” program to prevent drivers and passengers from getting infected with coronavirus.

Encapsulated as well on driver’s seats, the plexiglass is made up of transparent 3mm acrylic sheets, weighing no more than 5 kilogram and fitted firmly between the driver and the passengers, says a press release.

With several Obhai G and Obhai CNG already fitted with the protective screen, Obhai expects to have them installed in all the vehicles across the country in coming weeks, the release added.

This comes in addition to Obhai’s already prevailing hygiene standards of regular vehicle disinfection, providing hand sanitizers to drivers, facilitating contactless payments and providing masks to both drivers and passengers.

With limitations of social distancing and health guidelines applicable on already overwhelmed public transport system, Obhai will come as a relief to all essential commuters.

Obhai has four modes of transports – OBHAI G (Car), OBHAI MOTO, OBHAI CNGs and Obon (A ride sharing app to empower women drivers).

Currently operating across 23 cities including Dhaka, Chittagong, Khulna, Jessore and Barisal, the service is complemented by a 24/7 operated call center (16633).

OBHAI is also the first and only ride-sharing platform to offer ObhaiMilesTM- a reward point-based loyalty program for its customers.
