Country’s premier bourse, Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) ended yesterday’s session with a further dip maintaining the sluggish trend of previous day. Apart from telecom and jute, almost all the sectors, especially the large- cap sectors, registered notable sale that contributed to the further fall in indices. The broad index, DSEX closed at 4708.68 points yesterday with a loss of 52.74 points or 1.10 percent. Besides, the two selective indices, DSE30 also went down by 14.60 points while the Shariah index, DSES declined by 8.56 points to stand at 1660.88 points and 1080.96 points respectively. The total turnover dropped below Tk 2.9 billion as the investors refrained themselves from putting fresh fund into the ongoing bearish trend of the market. Losers took a strong lead over the gainers as out of 352 issues traded, 30 securities gained price while 292 declined and 30 remained unchanged. Both CSCX and CASPI dropped by 97.05 points and 162.13 points to stand at 8708.31 points and 14320.51 points respectively. At CSE, a total of 5,755,871 shares and mutual fund of 240 companies were traded, of which 26 issues advanced while 193 declined and 21 issues remained unchanged.
