The automotive industry in Bangladesh could be an emerging investment destination for Japanese entrepreneurs, said Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Rizwan Rahman.
During a meeting with Japanese ambassador to Bangladesh Ito Naoki on Sunday, Rizwan said Bangladesh and Japan have a strong bilateral business relationship since long.
Ito Naoki said that Bangladesh was able to send a strong message to the world in terms of keeping positive GDP growth even in the pandemic.
He also said that the Japanese Economic Zone in Araihazar would be able to go for operation by the next year and it would expedite Japanese investments in Bangladesh.
DCCI senior vice-president NKA Mobin and vice-president Monowar Hossain, and Japan embassy second secretary (economic affairs and development cooperation section) Shirahata Kasumi were also present in the meeting.
