Govt to buy 12.35 lakh tonnes of refined fuel oil from Singapore firms

The government will procure 12.35 lakh tonnes of refined fuel oil from China and Singapore at a cost of Tk 5,778 crore.

Cabinet committee on public purchase on Wednesday approved a Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) proposal to procurement of refined oil, presided over by Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal.

After the meeting, cabinet secretary Shumsul Arifin told the reporters that the BPC will procure 12.35 lakh tonnes of refined oil from four Singapore-based companies — Unipec Singapore Pte Ltd, Singapore, Petrobangla China International ( Singapore) Pte Ltd, Vital Asia Pte Ltd and Singapore and Emirate National Oil Company Pte Singapore.
