US-Bangla Airlines is adding a new ATR 72-600 aircraft in its fleet. The aircraft is set to arrive in the country on Saturday.
With the addition of the new ATR, US-Bangla will have fourteen aircrafts in its fleet, the airlines said in a press release on Friday.
This is the highest number of aircrafts for any private airlines in Bangladesh, the press release claims.
The new aircraft will join US-Bangla Airlines fleet directly from ATR Company of France.
The aircraft from Francazal Airport in France will land at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on 19 March via Greece, UAE and India.
The ATR 72-600 aircraft will be used to operate more flights on domestic routes as part of US-Bangla’s future plans. The aircraft is environmentally friendly and has state-of-the-art facilities. Passengers will be able to travel in comfort and ease.
US-Bangla launched its inaugural flight from Dhaka to Jashore with Dash8-Q400 aircraft on 17 July 2014. At present the airlines’ fleet has a total of thirteen aircraft, including four Boeing 737-800, three Dash8-Q400 and six brand new ATR 72-600. The company plans to add two more ATR 72-600 aircrafts to its fleet by June to bring more domestic flights under a stronger domestic network.
At present, international routes including all domestic routes are operating regular flights to Kolkata, Chennai, Muscat, Doha, Dubai, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore and Guangzhou.
