Govt announces six sectors free from child labour
The government on Thursday formally declared six sectors child labour free as part of its move to eradicate child labour by 2025.
State Minister for Labour Monnujan Sufian at a press briefing held at Srama Bhavan in the city made the declaration announcing the names of the sectors.
The sectors are: tannery, glass, ceramic, ship re-cycling, export-oriented leather and footwear and silk industries.
Labour Secretary KM Abdus Salam, among other representatives from the sectors, was present at the briefing.
