Uber Eats, a sister concern of Uber, has decided to discontinue its online food delivery services in Bangladesh from June 2.

“We have made the decision to discontinue Uber Eats in Bangladesh from June 2nd, 2020. This continues our strategy of focusing our energy and resources on our top Eats markets around the world,” said an Uber Eats spokesperson in a blog post on its website.

“After a year of partnering with local restaurants to offer convenient and reliable food delivery, we have made the difficult decision to discontinue Uber Eats in Bangladesh,” said the post.

“While we are sad that Uber Eats is leaving Bangladesh, we are committed to continue serving our communities here through our Uber Rides business, said the ride sharing company,” it read.

“Our number one priority now is to do everything possible to minimize the impact on our valued employees, restaurant partners, delivery partners, and consumers who have supported us,” it added.

It also thanked the entire Uber Eats Bangladesh community for their support.
