Organizers of the 5th Colour & Chem Expo in Lahore recently urged the Pakistani Government to allow zero tax for raw materials of dyes and leather used in the country’s textile sector to stop slowing exports. The appeal came on the concluding day of the event in which over 200 companies from China, India, Germany, Turkey and other countries participated. The event was organised by Event and Conference International with support from the Punjab Dyestuffs & Chemicals Manufacturing Association (PDCMA), Asia Dyestuff Industry Federation (ADIF), China Dyestuff Industry Association and Rainbow Dye-Tech Pvt. Ltd. China exported 1.3 million tonnes of raw material last year and Pakistan ranked third in the list of countries importing such stuff from China with 19,700 tonnes of imports, Pakistani media reported quoting a representative from the China Dyestuff Industry Association.
