An Ethiopian delegation led by state minister for trade and industry Teka Gebreyesus Entehabu recently visited the BEXIMCO Industrial Park in Dhaka to see large-scale vertical operations. The Bangladesh Export Import Company Limited, commonly known by its trade name BEXIMCO, also discussed its plans to set up a textile and apparel unit in Ethiopia. The Ethiopian minister said his country would be proud to build an industrial park similar to the BEXIMCO one and would welcome and support the company to invest in Ethiopia, according to Bangla media reports. Syed Naved Husain, BEXIMCO’s chief executive office for textiles, had visited Ethiopia in 2016 to assess the feasibility of investing in Africa and also visited the Hawassa Industrial Park.
